Opyt vs Feedly
Feed readers are the only other category that keeps working while you sleep, and both Feedly and Inoreader layer AI over the incoming flow to cut what you do not want to see.
But a reader's unit is a source you subscribed to, and its AI filters an incoming flow. Opyt's unit is a question and a person, and its loop is acquisition: it goes to arXiv, GitHub and OpenAlex for work nobody published to a feed you follow. A reader also has no memory; yesterday's stream is gone.
At a glance
| Opyt | Feedly | |
|---|---|---|
| Unit | A person, and a standing question | A source you subscribed to |
| Where the model runs | One embedding of the query; ranking itself is BM25 plus cosine | Filtering the incoming flow |
| Memory | A store you can query years later | An unread count |
| Back catalog | A tracked person's whole archive | What publishes from today onward |
| Sources without a feed | Reached by standing queries | Out of scope |
| Interruption | None; finds stage until you ask | A feed to keep up with |
